Our Canteen is open 6 Days a week for our members and their bona fide guests. Doors open daily at 3pm M-Sa. Canteen is closed on Sundays.
Our Canteen Manager Chad is fixing up our space there and making things much better. We have 4 new dart boards to host leagues or just bring your friends down and throw a few. There is Trivia on Thursday evenings at 7pm, and we have pool tournaments on Monday and Thursday evenings. There is live musical entertainment almost every Friday and Saturday. Notes from our Canteen Manager, Chad: April 13th is a special event. The American Hero Honor Rides will be stopping here on their inaugural ride for dinner. This ride supports the Combat Hero Bike Build and the amazing motorcycles they provide to wounded veterans. We will be having a southwest style white chili with jalapeno cornbread, chips and homemade salsa (thank you Dorothy!!) for dinner. This is open to members and guests ($10/plate) as well as the riders. It's a great opportunity to meet and greet with a group that truly honors service and the sacrifices our Veterans have made in service to our country and our constitution. Come out and join us for what will be an amazing evening.
This is Dre's last month in the kitchen so come out on the meal nights and let him know just how much we all have appreciated his cooking (maybe he'll change his mind about leaving). I am still working on his replacement, and it might end up being more than one cook to make the meals happen based on their schedules.
We had a great time this past weekend with the White Sands Dart League and the Cadillac Kings...that said I know that I cannot make everybody happy and that's perfectly fine. If you don't like the changes, I've made to improve the Canteen and draw in new members (which we have steadily been doing to include active duty), please take that up with myself or the post commander...do not take it out on others or make them feel out of place or uncomfortable. This is a place for ALL members, their families and the events we put on or host. Everybody has the right to enjoy a fun and respectful atmosphere...especially when children are present as we want their visits to be just as memorable.
